Universal Vietnam Steel Building’s Cost-Effective Prefab Restaurant’s Metal Building

Starting construction in 2018 and finished half a year later, this was one of Universal Steel Buildings' prefab sugar warehouse projects. Constructed for a sugar manufacturer, the investor and the general manager went into detail about making the raw sugar warehouse, more specifically, the requirement for the cost-effectiveness of the structure.

Overview

Project Summary

Much like any prefabricated sugar warehouse that requires a complex structure to house the product, the prefab sugar warehouse must be custom-made to the client's specific order. This inclusion of different parts for the raw sugar warehouse project solidifies the company as an all-in-one solution provider. In addition, it shows that the client was delighted with the overall quality and speed of the project.

Process

The process of the sugar warehouse project includes the first site visit, and the concrete foundation is already in place. However, other factors need to be considered for the advice to be as accurate as possible. For example, some of the information that needs to be collected is whether the area is in a seismic zone or if there is high humidity/salt/rain that can cause wear, and corrosion. In this raw sugar warehouse project, the humidity at the construction site is high. This can lead to rot, insulation/foam mold, and water condensation in enclosed areas. Therefore, better/thicker paints were used to prevent mold growth, with flame-retardant materials with higher quality foam and insulation. Also, We have changed the distance between the columns to make the space more optimized, and the cost of materials and the volume of steel have also been significantly improved too.

Then the construction of the raw sugar warehouse begins. Here, engineers and designers work with customers to find the best solution in terms of price and materials. This can be achieved by using state-of-the-art technology to eliminate extra material through better material costs and cost-effective design. Once the agreement is reached, and the contract is signed, the prefab sugar warehouse project will move to the manufacturing and assembly stages.

Erection Process

Manufacturing is a relatively simple process. However, quality control must be uncompromising and rigorous to manufacture the best raw sugar warehouse structure. This can be achieved by having an in-house quality control department check all components across all manufacturing processes. For example, each straight rolled and welded I-beam should not have a thickness difference of 5 mm.

Next comes the painting. The quality control department keeps working by checking the color and thickness types to ensure it meets the customer's order and quality. After a few quality controls, a test is performed and sent to the customer for performance proof before the component is delivered to the site. The container is then shipped to Thailand. This particular project will provide logistic services to customers using DDP Incoterms. This ensures that the product is shipped safely without risking the customer and uses Thailand's in-house logistics system to ensure that the product arrives in large quantities on time.

View From Above

After arriving safely, assembly begins with the site fitter. They are based on the schematics of the project and promptly build each area. In the process, they also check the quality of the work by inspecting the workers to make sure the quality is top-notch. Finally, everything is done using the checklist and quality control. All this information will be returned to the client for an update.
